This morning I felt a call to go to the horses as the sun and morning mists were rising. It was one of those times when I was able to let in more of the beauty that is available in each moment.
Please join me for a couple of minutes in the pasture to hear the symphony.
Today is the birthday of Xanadu. She was an Anglo-Trakehner mare that I was lucky enough to first come into relationship with when I was 13 and she was a yearling.

I trained her myself and she took me through my "B" Pony Club rating as well as to the California Dressage Society junior championships two years in a row.
Looking back at those pictures and comparing them to what is important to me today seems like worlds apart. The thread that connects the person I was then and who I am now is that I haven't stopped looking for how to understand and communicate. The difference is that now I listen more astutely to the horses and a quiet feeling within.
I will post more of the morning's adventures later today.
Your horses are fortunate to have such a nice place to live!
ReplyDeleteHi Stormy - I've enjoyed catching up on your blog - love the little video clips, and, of course, the pictures and all your sharings. I particularly like your morning symphony video - so peaceful - I've always loved bird songs. There was a time when my summer work schedule was such that I would visit Cookie at 2am in the morning for grooming and yard grazing. The magic of that time spent together is beyond words.
